Meeting of Auditor General with (MEC) Committee
Publish Date: Dec 13, 2011Professor Dr. M. Sharif Sharifi the Auditor General had a meeting with Director and members of Anti Corruption Audit and Assessment Independent Committee on 30th Qaws of current year.
“Drago Kaas) the Director for second term of this committee first of all mentioned about how last meetings of Auditor General with concern organizations in order to making a single strategy of anti corruption were, the results and indicators which was prepared in 20 pages submitted to the office. After that the AG with appreciation from the activities of this committee stated: anti corruption is not the main duty of CAO, but till it is concerning to this office during the audit and they face some cases of infraction and misdemeanorof law they suddenly prepare the criminal file and send it to the Attorney General for further inquiry. As during current year more than ten criminal files prepared and have been sent to the Attorney General. The AG continuously added: “we don’t have any problem in strategy, policy, laws and regulations in Afghanistan, but the existing challenges in the country are due to lack of their implementation equally on all citizens means that still there are people who want to keep corruption vivid in governmental and nongovernmental organizations through bricking the laws and thinking expediently. The issues of corruption in Kabul Bank, Defense Ministry Military Hospital, occupying the lands, existence of corruption in customs which you pointed in your report all are issues which create challenges for our government. These issues occur by people who have the authority or have strong protector in the government and such issues never done by low rank of employees, because such people don’t have the ability and courage of taking huge amount of money. If the law adopted equally and without any exceptional regarding these issues, now we would not have any problem in these areas. In this situation CAO as a supreme office of accountability is always the cooperator of internal and external organizations in anti corruption and anything can do will perform and will never stop struggling.
After that “Ari Raiana Hardiapamkaas” a member of this delegation appreciated the professional and technical corporation of CAO and mentioned that the delegation is going from this office with a handful and achievement. This is the only one office which works with standards and has accurate plans for implementing its objectives.
After one day the members of committee had a media conference in which they introduced the CAO as only good office.
The committee was a combination of Mohammad Yasin Usmani, Mohammad Azam Dadfar, Seduqullah and Sima Ghani the Executive Director and three other externals.
